National Science Foundation's (NSF) Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUP) Program is designed to further the education, research and professional career of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) students and faculty at Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUs) that have grants or are eligible for NSF grants. Several NSF program officers rarely have the opportunity to view the research that is taking place at tribal colleges and to listen and interact with the students and faculty doing research. For non-TCUP program officers the TCUP Research Symposium may be the first and perhaps their only exposure to tribal college students and to TCUP faculty.
The TCUP Research Symposium provides a forum for tribal college students and NSF TCUP faculty to showcase the research done by students and faculty. Collectively, the research will expose various theoretical framework concepts that may be suitable for subsequent research done by and for Native Americans.
